Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she was five, she moved to Oxfordshire where she studied at the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor when she was six. Through the years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing, dancing and acting. Through a school play as well as a Stagecoach Production, Emma took as the lead role at age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent via their Oxford teacher. After eight consecutive auditions, the producer David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast for the roles of the three leads Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first film appearance was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). This film was 2001's highest grossing film, breaking records on opening day as well as the first weekend. Critics gave high praise to the film, and especially those who were young. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Emma won the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for the Film. Film.
